For over 40 years Zito Schmitt Design (formerly Debey Zito Fine Furniture and Design) has been creating original museum-quality furniture with a design vocabulary including Scandinavian, Asian American and European Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau. The furniture is infused with historical awareness, yet honed by their personal vision and design experience. Each piece emerges as a creative expression blending past with present.

Zito Schmitt's Design Sevices brings the same breadth of design experience emphasizing visual harmony in the home. Our primary focus is to create interiors sympathetic both to the architecture, and the needs of our clients.

Among Zito Schmitt's notable commissions are furniture for the family room in Greene and Greene’s Blacker House, choir benches for San Francisco’s historic Swedenborgian Church, a 28’ carved mural in Alameda’s West End Library and a display cabinet for the lobby of Disney’s Grand California Hotel.  Zito Schmitt's work has also appeared in numerous periodicals, including Old House Interiors, Arts and Crafts Homes, Style 1900, Art and Architecture, Fine Woodworking and they been published in several books: The Bungalow, Inside the Bungalow, Arts and Crafts Style and Spirit, and The Beautiful Necessity.
